Yi Fan was quick to settle upon her artistic medium: that of drawing. She focuses on daily scenes that take the form of abstract still lifes. Fan’s works run far deeper than their titles (such as Yacht and Comic Character) suggest, capturing her emotions, ideas and experiences. The images are projected onto the paper within a single sigh or – perhaps more fitting – cry from the heart. They are almost spatial. Fan’s exquisite works allow us to become acquainted with a pure, passionate, romantic young woman.
