Ensio Tuppurainen lived in a house on Route 15, next to the military garrison of Ravijoki. One outside wall of his home was decorated with signs whose satire was directed against the inability of politicians to run the country and keep promises. With his signs Tuppurainen called attention to urban ecological activists, to the immigration politics, the system of grants in the arts, the rights of retirees and war veterans and the protection of nature.

Tuppurainen was a war veteran and a retired woodsman. His house was filled with his own paintings and the garden was full of sculptures made with found materials.
